Peter L. Engel, Lot H–108–01, 673 Abbot Hill Road in the Residential/Agricultural District, requested a special exception under the terms of Section 6.6.1 of the Wilton Zoning Ordinance to permit a home office for a consulting business as a home occupation.
Before the hearing began, Mr. Faiman asked Mr. Engel if he would like to go ahead with the hearing with only a four-member board or wait until next month when five members might be present. Mr. Engel chose to go ahead and Mr. Faiman called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Engel explained that he would be doing a consulting business out of his home. He stated that many of his clients are not in this area of the country but he may have some in the North East in the future. Most client contact is done by phone, computer or by visits out in the field. He stated that his business is a sole proprietorship. He does not have any employees at present but might hire a part-time secretary in the future. If his business grows beyond the one room in his home, he would rent office space. Except for an occasional meeting, most client contact will happen away from the office. Any vehicular traffic would consist mainly of UPS and FED EX deliveries. There will not be a sign.
Mr. Faiman read the requirements for Section 6.6.1 from the Wilton Zoning Ordinance. There were no abutters present.
MOTION: | Mr. Tuttle moved to approve the special exception as stated in the application, seconded by Mr. Blanchard with all in favor. |

Mr. Faiman stated that the application was approved and that Mr. Engel would receive a notice of approval in the mail. He further stated that the selectmen„ any party to the action or proceedings, or any person affected thereby may apply for a rehearing of this decision. A request for a rehearing must be filed in writing with the Zoning Board of Adjustment on or before March 5, 1996 and must fully specify all grounds on which the rehearing is requested. (N.H. RSA 677:22)
Mr. Faiman announced a State Planning and Zoning conference to be held in Concord on Saturday, May 18, 1996.
MOTION: | Mr. Blanchard moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. Tuttle with all in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m. |
