Mr. Mitchell called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. and explained that there were only four Board members in attendance. Applicants could either go ahead and have a four-member board hear their case or they could request a five-member board and in that case their hearing would be postponed until the June meeting. Mr. Parker requested a five-member board and so his hearing was continued until June 14, 1995. Ms. Handy wished to go ahead with a four-member board.

Case 5/10/95-2 HANDY

Carol A. Handy, Lot B–146, 1060 Isaac Frye Highway, in the Residential/Agricultural District, requested a Special Exception under the terms of sections 5.3.6 and 6.6.1 of the Wilton Zoning Ordinance to permit the operation of a daycare center in her home.

Ms. Handy stated that she will seek State licensing to be in place by mid-August 1995 which will allow for 6 full-time children and an additional 3 children who may come before and/or after school. She has not decided what her hours of operation will be. She has not decided what she will do this summer but stated that the law allows her to provide daycare in her home for up to three children without ant State license, and she may do that this summer.

Mr. Mitchell stated that he and Ms. Eckstrom visited the site and felt that there was adequate parking for 6 or more cars. He than read the daycare section from the Wilton Zoning Ordinance. There was some Board discussion as to State responsibility.

MOTION: Mr. Tuttle moved to approve the application as presented, seconded by Mr. Blanchard with all in favor.

Mr. Mitchell stated that the Special Exception had been granted. He further stated that the selectmen, any party to the action or proceedings, or any person affected thereby may apply for a rehearing of this decision. A request for a rehearing must be filed in writing with the Zoning Board of Adjustment on or before Tuesday, May 30, 1995, and must fully specify all grounds on which the rehearing is requested. NEW BUSINESS

MINUTES — April 12, 1995

MOTION: Mr. Blanchard moved to approve the 4/12/95 minutes with one change; that 1994 at top of page be changed to 1995. Mr. Tuttle seconded with all in favor.

There was a motion to adjourn which was seconded and voted on with all in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
