Tuesday, August 14, 2012 — Notice
(1) The Zoning Board will determine whether abutters were properly notified before the June 12, 2012 hearing at which a special exception was granted to Jason Dobbins under section 5.3.1 of the Wilton Zoning Ordinance, to permit gun sales as an internet business and by retail to family and friends as a home occupation on Lot D–58, 205 Burns Hill Road. (Case #6/12/12–3).
(2) If the Zoning Board determines that abutters were not properly notified, it may vacate its decision from that hearing.
(3) If the Zoning Board vacates the previous decision, it will hold a new hearing on the original application by Jason Dobbins, for a special exception under section 5.3.1 of the Wilton Zoning Ordinance, to permit gun sales as an internet business and by retail to family and friends as a home occupation on Lot D–58, 205 Burns Hill Road.
The Town of Wilton Zoning Board of Adjustment will consider this application in a public hearing in the Wilton Town Hall Courtroom on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, August 14, 2012 — Decision
The decision in Case #6/12/12–3 has been vacated.
The application by Jason Dobbins for a special exception under section 5.3.1 of the Wilton Zoning Ordinance has been granted. The special exception will permit gun sales as an internet business as a home occupation on Lot D–58, 205 Burns Hill Road.
Retail sales to family and friends from the property will be permitted with the following restrictions:
- No employees
- Sales by appointment only
- Sales regulated by the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms
- Limited to twenty customer visits per year
- No advertising of retail sales
- No signs about the business on the property
- No inventory to be kept on the property, except guns being held for previously agreed in-home sale
- No ammunition sales except as part of a firearm sale
- No shooting on the property in connection with the sale of firearms
This decision shall expire if the construction or use permitted by it has not begun by Thursday, August 14, 2014. (Wilton Zoning Ordinance section 17.4)
The selectmen, any party to the action or proceedings, or any person directly affected thereby may apply for a rehearing of this decision. A request for a rehearing must be filed in writing with the Zoning Board of Adjustment on or before Thursday, September 13, 2012, and must fully specify all grounds on which the rehearing is requested.
