Notice
High Mowing School has requested variances to sections 4.2.1(b) and 4.2.1(c) of the Wilton Zoning Ordinance to permit the construction of a waste treatment system in and adjacent to an area of poorly drained soil on Lot F-130, Abbot Hill Road.
The Town of Wilton Zoning Board of Adjustment will consider this application in a public hearing on Wednesday, May 8, 1996 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wilton Town Hall Courtroom, 42 Main Street.
Decision
The request by High Mowing School for variances to sections 4.2.1(b) and 4.2.1(c) of the Wilton Zoning Ordinance has been granted.
The variance will permit construction of a constructed wetland waste water treatment system in and adjacent to an area of poorly drained soil.
The system will be constructed downhill from the “south campus” area of the High Mowing School. It will include two treatment cells, each at least 20 feet by 60 feet in area. Approval is contingent on approval by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services. At least two monitoring wells are to be provided, located 35 feet and 75 feet downslope from the system. Water from the wells is to be sampled at least quarterly and tested by the school. Samples are also to be submitted to a commercial testing service for comparison four times in the first year and two times in the second year. All test results are to be submitted to the town building inspector. Minimum standards for the tested water are: nitrates, less than 20 mg/l; BOD, less than 50 mg/l; and suspended solids, less than 40 mg/l.
The selectmen, any party to the action or proceedings, or any person directly affected thereby may apply for a rehearing of this decision. A request for a rehearing must be filed in writing with the Zoning Board of Adjustment on or before Friday, June 7, 1996, and must fully specify all grounds on which the rehearing is requested. (N.H.
