Daniel and Jessica Cornwell have applied for a special exception under section 5.3.6(b) of the Wilton Zoning Ordinance, to permit a licensed in-home child care in their home on Lot M–1, 241 Gibbons Highway.
The Town of Wilton Zoning Board of Adjustment will consider this application in a public hearing in the Wilton Town Hall Courtroom on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

The hearing on the application by Daniel and Jessica Cornwell has been continued to Tuesday, June 12, 2012. The application is for a special exception under section 5.3.6(b) of the Wilton Zoning Ordinance, to permit a licensed in-home child care in their home on Lot M–1, 241 Gibbons Highway. The hearing has been continued to allow the applicants to prepare a basic site plan showing access, parking, and site plans, and to allow the Zoning Board to conduct a site visit on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.
Tuesday, June 12, 2012 — Decision
The application by Daniel and Jessica Cornwell for a special exception under section 5.3.6(b) of the Wilton Zoning Ordinance has been granted. The special exception will permit a licensed in-home child care in the applicants' home on Lot M–1, 241 Gibbons Highway. It is granted subject to the conditions that:
- Enrollment is limited to six pre-school and three school-age children (including the applicants' children).
- There is to be absolutely no client parking or standing on the travelled way or shoulder of Route 101.
- The front shrubbery is to be kept trimmed back to maintain visibility for vehicles exiting the driveway onto Route 101.
- Hours of operation are limited to weekdays, 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- There is to be no more than one non-resident employee.
This decision shall expire if the construction or use permitted by it has not begun by Thursday, June 12, 2014. (Wilton Zoning Ordinance section 17.4)
The selectmen, any party to the action or proceedings, or any person directly affected thereby may apply for a rehearing of this decision. A request for a rehearing must be filed in writing with the Zoning Board of Adjustment on or before Thursday, July 12, 2012, and must fully specify all grounds on which the rehearing is requested.
